The Position

Education Programs Professionals assist and foster the growth of K-12, postsecondary, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.

Under the general direction of the Director of Finance and Operations for the State Public Charter School Authority (SPCSA), this Education Programs Professional position oversees, organizes, monitors, and evaluates the federal and state program grant funding for the SPCSA. This position will be responsible for review and approval of education program sub-grant applications and related claims requests; oversight of federal funds usage for compliance with law, regulation, policy and specific grant requirements; efforts to maximize grant opportunities; and various audits of schools. This position will also provide training, technical assistance, and outreach regarding education grant requirements and best practices. The incumbent will be required to support the mission of the SPCSA by performing various other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate possesses the ability to review educational performance plans; has an understanding of how schools can put together SMART goals; is familiar with the testing environment and how cut scores are derived; can work independently and adapt to changing standards and expectations; is diligent in pursuing grant opportunities; and has the ability to work collaboratively with partnership agencies. This position has a statewide travel requirement of up to 50%. The incumbent will also be required to pay for and pass a fingerprinting/background check.

To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

An earned Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and one year of professional experience in an educational program area; OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and two years of professional experience in an educational program area.

Positions require program-specific education and/or experience which will be identified by the agency at the time of recruitment.

Special Requirements

Positions require statewide travel.

This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI background check, at the cost of the applicant.

Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.

Additional Position Experience

Grants management experience is required.
