This is an administrative faculty contract (12-month), full-time, non-tenure track, benefits-eligible position.A college-wide position, based at the Western Nevada College, Carson City campus. The position primarily works weekdays, but includes occasional on-call duties and periodic travel to other WNC campus locations.QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Qualifications:1. Bacheloris degree and three years of related professional experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the Bacheloris degree (i.e., AA+ 4yrs related professional experience). A minimum of an Associateis degree is required.2. Web programming and database skills.3. Experience with design and management of Relational Database Management Systems. (RDBMS)4. Experience with object oriented design.5. Employer conducts background check.Preferred Qualifications:1. Experience with web services i REST or SOAP.2. Experience with version control using systems such Git or VCS.3. Experience with Test Driven Development.4. Familiarity with dependency management via Composer, Bower, and/or NPM.5. Experience with backend PHP frameworks like Laravel, Phalcon, or Symfony.6. Experience with front-end frameworks like Angular or Bootstrap.7. Knowledge of Apache web server.8. Active Directory experience.9. Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions experience.10. Ability to document system details and procedures.The programmer/analyst position is responsible for the development, implementation, and support of major applications, systems, and analyzing business procedures. Requires support of projects driven by Computing Services and other departments at the institution.JOB DUTIES:1. Application support - Provide ongoing technical support for various software applications to all college administrative staff.2. Application Implementation i Implement any purchased software systems, enhancements to existing software systems, modifications to existing software systems required by NSHE system or legal requirements.3. Business Analysis i Understand and evaluate business procedures to provide a software based solution to increase productivity and efficiency to existing procedures.4. Application Development i Create new software based solutions/enhancements for both students and staff using WNCs existing framework.5. Institutional Research support with programming and databases.6. Participate in program assessment and program review.7. Serve on college and NSHE committees.8. Other duties as assigned.
