UP TO $7K IN SIGN-ON INCENTIVES and RELOCATION ALLOWANCE! We have an immediate opening for a Logistics Supervisor for our Northern Nevada operation located in Elko/Osino, Nevada. The Logistics Supervisor will provide leadership support for theNorthern Nevada Operationslocated in Osino, NV. The ideal candidate will be capable of ensuring that the daily assigned activities are completed timely and accurately, provide communication to affected parties and coordinate yard movements with inbound/outbound trucks and railcars.What you'll be doing:
Coordinate truckload deliveries and related activities (BOL, iSite, Geotab, training, etc.)
Share responsibility for the safety of team members in all aspects of the operation
Create and maintain dispatch to meet customer demand and contract needs by efficiently utilizing equipment and available team members. Monitor real-time conditions and customer's needs through constant communication with customer personnel, Operations Manager and data observed from trucks' on-board data collection devices
Check driver’s completion of paperwork as well as accurately record the data into the designated information system
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
Assist with the hiring, training and ongoing improvement of the team's skills
Communicate with Financial Coordinator and provide payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable documentation as needed
Communicate with Kelker Logistics Supervisor and / or other coordinators on issues and updates of container and / or rail movements as pertaining to the Cripple Creek project
Communicate with Information Services contacts on any information technology issues to ensure proper function of logistical data and dispatch systems and the accuracy of data reports and key performance indicators
With the direction of the Operations Manager, create, mana ge and report key performance indicators to drive increased customer satisfaction, revenue performance and decrease expenses
What you'll need:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent, higher education a plus
Previous experience in rail operations or logistics
Experience operating heavy equipment a plus
Dependable with a p ositive attitude; treats others with fairness and respect – expects the same in return
The ability to analyze and interpret data with the capacity to make quick and confident decision
Conducts themselves in a professional manner at all times
Can follow all rules and procedures as outlined by Savage
Must be able to attend and pass all test associated with job related coursework. This includes, but it not limited to: OSHA, HazMat, MSHA and FRA Experience, or other rail management programs
Strong leadership skills and attributes
Experience using logistics programs and other programs
CDL or willingness to obtain
Can work independently with minimal supervision
Willingness to relocate and take on new opportunities a plus
Ability to sit for long hours
Must be able lift 50lbs
Ability to work in harsh weather climates outside during hot summers and cold winters
