The position of Human Resources Assistant, with SOC LLC, A Day and Zimmermann Company, is located at the Hawthorne Army Depot, near the modest, west central Nevada, “High-desert, mountain-side”, community of Hawthorne. Hawthorne Army Depot, known as “The Largest ammunition storage facility in the world,” is centrally located near the modest community of Hawthorne, Nevada, at the base of 11,000 ft. Mt. Grant and at the south end of large and historical Walker Lake on Highway 95. We are located within a comfortable 1 to 2 hour drive of numerous communities and cities, located in Northern Nevada and Northern California, including South Lake Tahoe, Reno/Sparks, Carson City, Fernley and Sparks, all of which offer abundant opportunities and access to high quality shopping, recreation, health care, education and entertainment.
HWAD, is also located near the East Gate to Yosemite National Park, Mammoth Lakes, Heavenly and Mt. Rose ski resorts, and a comfortable 4 -5 hour drive North West of Las Vegas , NV. Prepares designated correspondence and reports. Compiles data. Maintains confidential personnel files and personnel actions. To include but not limited to reference check administration, e-verify and I-9 process, prepare unemployement correspondence and verication of employment status.
Performs HRIS data entry into designated data bases and personnel file maintenance. Provides customer service to include assisting with applications and resumes and handling employment application intake. Advertise new job postings, prepares job postings, maintains and updates all assigned information posting boards to ensure documents are authorized and current. Assists with new-employee orientations.
Answers phones, provides back-up and interim administrative support for assigned HR functions as needed. Maintains years of service award program and the scheduling of the reasonable accommodation process meetings.
Gather and manage personal information about employees of the organization, keep documents updated and organized and provide clerical support to the overall HR staff as deemed appropriate.
Monitors and orders department supplies and verifies material costs. Prepares requisitions to obtain materials and supplies utilized in the HR department. Performs requisition follow ups as needed.
Upholds company values (Safety, Diversity, Integrity and Success). Maintains high ethical standards, overall values of the business, and the Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct to include cooperating during Company investigations; Reports potential or known safety or environmental concerns to the appropriate dept. or personnel.
EDUCATION: Minimum of High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional vocational or college level course work in Adminstration/Secretarial or related fields, desired.
LENGTH OF EXPERIENCE: Minimum one (1) year of clerical experience, required. Prior HR-related clerical experience preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS: Must be able to obtain and maintain all ceritifcations as required by the SOC's Master Training Plan.
LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS: Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State of Nevada driver’s license. Must be able to obtain and maintain the apropriate level of security clearance as well as a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.
OTHER: Must be able to perform work duties, routinely, in a safe and effective manner, remaining alert and aware of potential work/safety hazards at all time, and especially alert while performing safety sensitive duties.
