The Analyst of Operational Analytics collaborates with the team to drive insights, recommendations and identification of best practices to improve performance across MGM’s operational divisions. The Analyst will work with data and perform analysis to identify areas of opportunity and efficiencies that will serve as the basis of data driven change management. This individual will also be responsible for performing and telling the holistic data-driven story. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts policies, practices and procedures.
Develop, implement and maintain KPI goal tracking dashboards to monitor progress of identified areas of opportunity/improvement.
Acquire, verify, clean and synthesize data from a variety of databases and resources.
Working knowledge of BI platforms and tools.
Ability to present data and recommendations for improvement clearly, concisely and from a data storytelling perspective.
Communicates data insights involving a combination of data, visuals and narrative to explain what is happening in the data and why the insights from data are important.
Networks externally to seek innovation.
Performs all other job related duties as requested.
Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Gaming or related field.
At least 1 year of experience, including leadership experience overseeing a diverse team of professionals.
Knowledge of data structures, systems and BI tools / capabilities.
Strategic view and ability to execute on quality data and tools enabling business goals.
Able to use influence to ensure alignment and adoption of analytics capabilities / insights.
Excellent customer service skills.
Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
- Previous experience working in a similar resort setting or hospitality industry.
