DaVita Clinical Risk Management Specialist in Las Vegas, Nevada

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE

This position focuses on the risk management activities of the company. The responsibilities of the Risk Management Specialist include risk identification, loss prevention, loss reduction and risk financing through a planned and systemic process. Responsible for Company-wide Visa program, for all employees requiring work authorization and seeking permanent resident

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Education:

  • BS in related field or equivalent years of experience.

  • Experience:

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to make independent judgments and pay close attention to detail.

  • Good oral and written communication skills essential.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills required.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, nurse, and other health care professional.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for quality and continuous improvement within the job scope.

  • Responsible for all actions/responsibilities as described in company controlled documentation for this position.

  • Contributes to and supports the corporation’s quality initiatives by planning, communicating, and encouraging team and individual contributions toward the corporation’s quality improvement efforts.

  • Responsible for requesting loss runs on all litigation cases, quarterly and updating grid

  • Responsible for all actions/responsibilities as described in company controlled documentation for this position.

  • Contributes to and supports the corporation’s risk initiatives by planning, communicating, and encouraging team and individual contributions toward the corporation’s risk efforts

  • Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the Company-Wide Visa program by attending quarterly state meetings, corresponding with VISA attorneys and provide necessary documents as needed

  • Maintains litigation case files and acts as liaison to litigation attorney and insurance company

  • Maintains open communication with attorneys correspondence

  • Works with physicians in obtaining malpractice insurance coverage by working with broker

Maintains general liability insurance and keeps coverage current by contacting insurance company with building structure and other information

  • Conduct yearly physical inspection of all companies for risk identification and report findings. Reviews all departments’ monthly assessments and creates report

  • Chairman of the Safety Committee and develops safety policy and procedures and company wide safety newsletters

  • Participates in Patient Satisfaction Survey process

  • Maintains general liability binder for easy reference of certificates
