Shaw-Lundquist Associates, Inc. (SLA) was founded in 1974 and provides construction services as a general contractor, construction manager and design/builder serving a variety of clients in the retail, entertainment, multi-unit, educational, commercial, governmental, institutional and industrial markets. The company currently has 2 offices in Minnesota and Nevada. We are seeking candidates for future positions of Construction Superintendent for projects in the Las Vegas, Nevada and surrounding areas.
The company’s core target is to be a nationally recognized Asian-American owned enterprise with a national footprint and $300 million in revenue by March 2022.

Support leadership, management and direction for assigned Shaw-Lundquist Associates construction project(s). Maintain project information, financials, documents, drawings & specifications and schedule as directed while working as a project team member. Coordinate and communicate with Subcontractors, Architects, Engineers and the Owner as directed by the Superintendent and/or Project Manager. Interact and report as needed to management the status of your responsibilities for the project. Lead and practice the SLA mission statement and core principles.
You are expected to work with independence using your experience, initiative, and sound judgment to accomplish work responsibilities and duties. Communication with the entire team is critical. You are requested to continue your professional development, especially your knowledge of construction, through ongoing training and education. This includes keeping abreast of changes in procedures, laws and regulations relating to work responsibilities and the construction industry.

PROJECT/PRACTICE RELATED COMPETENCIES
Compiles and tracks daily reports for SLA and subcontractors.
Reviews and understands approved submission documents with the Project Manager/Engineer.
Maintains accurate As-built drawings with assistance from Project Manager/Engineer.
Reviews drawings and specifications and contractor’s As-built drawings for accuracy.
Work with Project Manager/Engineer to manage all materials used on the job site.
Coordinates with subcontractors and inspectors to ensure all non-compliance report issues are resolved immediately as well as completes all paperwork associated with them.
Writes and issues safety notices to contractors in violation of the SLA’s safety policy as well as verifies that they are corrected in a timely manner.
Maintain orderly job documentation system in the field.
Directs an orderly process for handling issues and information requests generated through the construction process.
Ensures project goals are achieved economically and efficiently.
Monitors, controls and updates project schedule.
Serves as the Champion and in charge of all Field Quality Control and has contingency plan if needed to ensure a zero punch list.
Work meets and exceeds expectation of owners/designers while adhering to the budget.
Coordinates and reviews subcontractor work.
Minimizes extraneous work directives and excess field work orders by developing a complete understanding of the subcontractor’s scope of work.
Shows no tolerance for unsafe practices and attitudes, monitors project safety and enforce company and OSHA rules and regulations.
Works with project manager to maintain a potential change order log.
Perform timely completion of punch list and project closeout.
