PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The role of the Employment Specialist is to complete all transactional and administrative tasks for every type of hire transaction for MGM Resorts International Corporate Entities, and the Las Vegas properties. The Employment Specialist is a key role within the onboarding experience; ensuring that the process is seamless for the new hire. All duties are to be performed in accordance with federal, state, local laws, regulations, and ordinances, as well as departmental and MGM Resorts International Operations policies, practices and procedures.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide excellent service to internal and external guests
Complete all phases of the hire, transfer, and reinstatement processes for all Corporate and Nevada entities
Conduct New Hire Processing for all new hires, ensuring compliance as related to I-9s, Gaming Control Board, position required licenses, pre-employment clearances, and other requirements
Complete all internal transfers, promotions, and job change transactions, ensuring all licensing, Labor Union requirements etc., are in compliance
Assist with the gaming registration process, to include new registrations, location terminations, change of location, and incomplete registrations
Communicate with various internal stakeholders (hiring managers, HR Compliance, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, HCMS, etc.)
Respond to requests for I-9 audit changes and additional information from Corporate HR Compliance
Work with governing bodies & regulatory agencies to ensure Employment-related compliance (DHS, Nevada GCB, Internal Audit, etc.)
Conduct operational audits to manage established controls and measurements within the department
Maintain working knowledge of all federal and state Employment laws
Utilize various computer systems to track, record, generate, format and distribute operational reports
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent
One (1) year of experience in Human Resources
Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays
PREFERRED:
Experience working under the applicable employment and other regulations governing Human Resources policies, procedures and practices
Experience working in a similar resort setting
Bi-lingual, with English as primary or secondary language
Proficiency in Workday or other SAAS platform
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Nevada Gaming Registration
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
