Reinforce and positively engage in Opportunity Villages organizational culture supporting choice and creativity of clients and of staff.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESGrant Management and Composition: Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals. Write and assemble compelling applications for private foundations, corporations, and government entities in partnership with program team leads, the Resource Development team, and the VP of Philanthropy.Grant Reporting and Stewardship: comply with grant reporting requirements for private foundations, corporations, individuals, and government entities. Work with departments and program leads to ensure reporting needs are met. Create and implement strategies for stewardship of grant makers, including but not limited to appropriate gratitude for awarded and non-awarded grants.Internal and Database Organization: prepare and orchestrate inter-departmental monthly grants meetings with updated calendar.Prepare reports for proposals submitted, funded, accounts of monies raised, and reporting needs. Keep physical copies of all grant application, reports, etc. Maintain digital copies of grants and donor correspondence in DPO.Support entry and management of submissions, awards, and reports in DPO.Collaborate with Development staff and Programing staff in the production of fundraising materials, such as fundraising project summaries, funding proposals, stewardship reports, programmatic updates and other written materials for internal and external audiences.Serve as project manager, editor, and/or principal writer for a wide variety of print and electronic projects, including funding proposals for individuals, corporations, foundations, capital campaign-related promotional materials; annual stewardship reports for select foundation donors; and project summaries for a diverse array of fundraising goals.Types of projects include formal proposals, letters of inquiry, brochures and flyers, direct mail pieces, invitations, etc.Prospect Research: identify new potential funding opportunities through publications, website subscriptions, internet, and other resources. Stay abreast on trends in fundraising, grants, and community needs.Position Development: attend necessary conferences and workshops, join appropriate membership organizations and research industry best practices.Management and Planning: design long-term strategies for consistent grant support.Fundraising Initiatives: assist in the discovery, cultivation and stewardship of new, existing, and major donors. Work with staff to ensure donation acknowledgement letters are sent to funders in a timely manner, and ensure donor follow-up. Provide regular written updates (newsletters, coffee table books, reports etc.) to donors.Support OV special events.Coordinate and manage relationships with funders, interact with and respond to questions from funder representatives.Quarterly Newsletter: work with program leads and departments to create quarterly newsletter.Additional Copy: write and edit additional Development-oriented copy as assigned, including letters, emails, e-blasts, notices, board reports, reviews, summaries, and bios.Opportunity Village Way:
