POSITION SUMMARY: It is the primary responsibility of the Pool Lifeguard to ensure the overall satisfaction of all pool guests by providing greeting upon arrival and ensuring the safety of patrons of an aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies; all while displaying excellent customer service. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures.

Top 5 Specific Job Functions:

  • Provide guest safety by watching over water and deck area and responding to emergency situations as needed

  • Answer guests' inquires in a professional and courteous manner

  • Maintain cleanliness of pool deck and facilities including straightening and stacking chairs, collecting soiled towels and trash, moving chairs, boxing towels, replacing flags and cleaning signs

  • Display knowledge of pool facility such as length and depth of the pool, how many laps it takes to complete a mile in meters and feet, Aces hours of operation, location of bars and emergency procedure for rescue

  • Interact with guests while adhering to company customer service standards

Other Specific Job Functions:

  • Perform all other job related duties as requested

  • Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service

  • Maintain attentiveness to environment in the pool facility to ensure guest enjoyment

  • Participate in pool safety programs, training, and documentation to ensure the overall safety of guests in the pool area

  • Respond to and resolve guest and/or employee complaints in a timely manner and creatively solve problems with the ability to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and resolve potential difficulties

  • Be knowledgeable of Department and Hotel goals

  • Own all requests and complaints; resolve issues immediately and follow up to ensure the guest's satisfaction

  • Be knowledgeable of Hotel information to answer guest inquiries

Position Requirements



  • CPR Certified

  • Current certification as Lifeguard by a recognized source of training

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts

  • Professional appearance and demeanor

  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays

  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms


  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting

  • High School diploma or equivalent


  • CPR Certified

  • Current certification as Lifeguard by a recognized source of training

  • Food Handler’s Card
