U.S. Army Accession Command Social Media Specialist in Las Vegas, Nevada
About the Position: The incumbent will work for a U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion in the Advertising and Public Affairs section and will be responsible for developing modern and engaging content to support the battalion's engagement strategy for reaching its internal and external audiences as part of the recruiting mission for the U.S. Army and Army Reserve.
Develops modern and engaging multimedia content that promotes public awareness of the organization and supports the recruiting mission using appropriate virtual communication tools to reach the intended audience.
Utilizes multiple social media platforms as well as social media management tools to convey information and publicize the organization's mission.
Monitors Army recruiting social media pages throughout the specified unit for appropriate, professional content and provide feedback and advice to page managers based on analysis of the content's effectiveness.
Writes a variety of articles and social media posts conveying information and clarifying the Agency operations, programs and activities to specialized audiences and the general public.
Produces quality stories, photos, graphics and video products that educate the intended audience about Army opportunities and benefits and corrects misperceptions about service.

Specialized experience is defined as: Applying new and innovative tools, programs, systems, software, services and social media industry trends to maintain the battalion's currency and relevance with social media efforts and strategies; Creating multimedia tools for social listening, social analytics and social engagement while managing the social media program of a brand/product; Writing information and advertising through social media tools to post articles, graphic design, photos, videos, Spredfast, HootSuite, Buffer, Likeable Hub, or Social Pilot. OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position such as Social Media, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, and Marketing. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
