Job Description

The Senior Trainer role participates in the content review and delivery of programs that support the vision and strategy of Sotheby’s International Realty (SIR).

This role is 100% remote / home office based.

The Senior Trainer is an accomplished learning and development professional who bring knowledge and best practices from being a real estate practitioner as well as past-experience training and developing Brokerage and Sales Associates. Delivery will be accomplished both in the virtual classroom as well as the live classroom.

The ideal candidate is located within reasonable distance from an international airport and has the capacity to travel 10-15 days out of the month for live, in-person training events (once safe to travel). They will also have a proven track record of delivering webinars and online courses virtually.


  • Group facilitation and classroom leadership.

  • Generate student participation and engagement and have survey feedback reflect.

  • Learn established SIR course and webinar training content for online and in-person delivery to the client group.

  • Build and maintain relationships with SIR brokerage offices.

  • Deliver virtual and live learning to a wide range of audiences including sales associates and employees, scaling from office level workshops to large scale seminars and learning and development events.

  • Competency working with Microsoft O365 (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) for creating and editing training slide decks, facilitator guides and student manuals.

  • Assist students with goal setting and business planning initiatives in addition to tracking and reporting results.

  • Design and craft one-off classes/webinars based on the business strategy and use of the SIR digital lead generation and marketing tools.

  • Use a variety of instructional techniques and formats to incorporate simulations, case studies, role plays, team exercises/discussions to drive optimal training and development outcomes and results. Use platform delivery options like breakout rooms and forum discussions to engage participants.

  • Assist with promotion and communication of webinar and course initiatives (social media and email campaigns).

  • Ease in being able to stall, halt and redirect class conversation that is prolonging vs. advancing.

  • Support instructional design team in capturing sales best practices, providing guidance as needed for classroom delivery options and ideas.

  • Provide constructive feedback for improving course /webinars developed by the Learning Center of Excellence.

  • Maintain strategic alliances with industry and training organizations.

  • Stay up to date with industry updates, training standards, adult learning styles and preferences, as well as blended/social learning techniques.

  • Successful delivery and classroom management which results in survey NPS scores of 80% or higher. Provide recommendations for training survey collection for improving delivery and development.

  • Anticipate, support and welcome continuous improvement to established training programs and platforms. Be ready to adapt and adjust to a new and changing corporate learning landscape. Assume personal responsibility to see that necessary change is adopted and implemented.

  • Promote and attain sales associate and employee engagement in our learning platforms.


  • Proven experience in delivering classroom training.

  • Virtual delivery experience required (i.e. Zoom, Teams or other virtual delivery platforms).

  • Past experience working with a luxury real estate, consumer or hospitality brand highly preferred.

  • Real estate sales or management experiences strongly preferred.

  • Strong organization, administrative and time management skills.

  • Ability to multi-task projects and training course delivery.

  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) functionality.

  • Work effectively with different personality styles.

  • Proven track record in understanding and reaching real estate sales practitioners and how to deliver training to a diverse audience strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrates success in managing small and large classroom groups (both virtually and live).

  • Strong collaborative and influencing skills.

  • Strong communication skills: written, verbal, presentation and engaging. class delivery skills for all individuals at the enterprise level.

  • Proficiency in O365 (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

  • Ability to travel 10-15 days out of the month (once safe).

  • This position can be performed anywhere except Colorado.


  • Undergraduate degree strongly preferred. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum of five year’s experience in teaching or training.

  • Experience in the real estate sales learning/training space.

  • Familiar with adult learning, instructional design and technology concepts.

  • Experience planning and executing small and large (3,000+) training events) a plus.

  • Past experience working with a luxury real estate, consumer or hospitality brand.
