PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The IT Architecture Senior Engineer is responsible for installing and managing all networks that make up the MGM IT environment. The responsibilities extend into MGM’s cloud presence to include the AWS and Azure environments. The IT Architecture Senior Engineer will work closely with the company’s architects to coordinate the implementation and maintenance of our evolving technical architecture. The IT Architecture Senior Engineer will also mentor junior members of the team and directs tasks and processes in order to meet critical department objectives. All duties are performed in accordance with department and property policies, practices and procedures.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install and maintain large, complex and mission-critical IT systems

  • Maintain highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures (AWS & Azure)

  • Install and maintain Software Defined (SD) networks in the Data Center, Campus and Wan environments

  • Work collaboratively within a team environment

  • Show proficiency in configuring networking equipment from multiple networking vendors to include, but not limited to: Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Citrix, Infinera

  • Capture and analyzes network traffic utilizing the company’s data monitoring tools

  • Understands how to create automation functions to increase productivity. Scripting proficiency is beneficial

  • Work with IT Command Center to help resolved level 1-3 issues

  • Troubleshoot minor and complex network connectivity issues

  • Document network and cable plant infrastructure wired and wireless

  • Maintain supporting documentation

  • Configure, upgrade and install network equipment

  • Engage with internal business units to manage and meet external customer expectations

  • Mentor junior team members

  • Self directs small, but complex projects to meet critical deliverables

  • Owner of impactful technical changes and departmental approvals

  • Perform other job-related duties as requested

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Three (3) + years of prior relevant experience

PREFERRED:

  • Experience working in a similar resort setting

  • Bilingual, English as the primary or secondary language

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Gaming Registration for Nevada Required

  • Valid Michigan, Mississippi and Maryland Gaming License may be required

  • CCNA or CCNP preferred
