The Position

Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.

Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services is currently recruiting for a Clinical Social Worker. The position will be located at Stein Forensic Hospital which is a secure inpatient hospital for mentally disordered offenders located in Las Vegas, NV who have been court ordered to undergo, assessment, treatment, competency restoration education, and competency evaluations to proceed with their criminal cases. This position typically works a 40-hour a week day time schedule. SNAMHS is an exciting place to work with emphasis on utilizing the recovery model, developing innovative programs, increasing consumer and family involvement, educating the public through a variety of activities, and implementing a best practices clinical program.

To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.

Special Notes

Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.

Persons employed by a government agency on July 1, 1988 as a social worker, supervisor of social work or administrator of social work who were performing clinical social work duties, and who possess a license to practice as an associate in social work and who meet the experience requirements are eligible to compete in the selection process for this series.

Special Requirements

A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.

A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
