Position Purpose:

Responsible for the management of all Materials Management systems throughout the healthcare system. Handles all related operational issues for development, implementation and maintenance of related computer systems. Plans, develops and directs the ongoing support, enhancement and interfacing of the multiple systems including but not limited to the Contracts Module, Purchasing, Inventory and Receiving, Distribution System, Accounts Payable, Accounting and the related Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), etc. The primary role of this position is to provide system analysis of functional flow and enhance user activities by ensuring accuracy of data, user understanding of system’s functionalities, developing appropriate queries and related user reports. The above is accomplished through aggressive problem solving, user education, profile maintenance, knowledge of systems query abilities and through written program specification and system modification by I.T. Ensures that all system related user manuals are updated and functional, and is the system’s administrator for security and file access.

Nature and Scope:

The incumbent reports directly to the Director of Supply Chain Management and manages activities related to the Materials Management systems both within and outside of the Supply Chain Departments. Incumbent is first level of support for Materials Management Systems processes. Incumbent has integral knowledge of all modules within the Materials System and has a sound understanding of the business and systems. The System Administrator will keep the vision for implementing the Materials Management systems at Renown Health in the forefront of the organization and facilitate making enhancements and changes towards that vision. The position will work directly with internal department management to analyze user needs and when necessary will coordinate the resources of Materials Management and external resources as necessary to achieve successful upgrade implementations or changes to the systems. This position manages the development, design, implementation and maintenance of the automated Materials Management systems and related interdepartmental policies and procedures. Incumbent monitors and tracks System Customer Support tickets (error incident reports). This person recommends system enhancements, while being mindful of capital and operating budgets.

Minimum Qualifications: Requirements – Required and/or Preferred


Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Bachelor’s degree preferred.


Five years experience in materials management, application systems development, or systems analysis accepted in lieu of B.A. or B.S. degree.

Individuals with data processing, or materials management system administration will receive preference.

Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
