ToolmakerBusiness Entity:iHamilton CompanyLocation:iReno, NViJob DescriptionHamilton Company is looking for a Toolmaker who will be under the supervision of the Machine Shop Superintendent or Group Leader and is responsible for providing tooling support for all aspects of production and builds custom manufacturing equipment. The Sr. Toolmaker will be responsible for the fabrication and assembly of tools, fixtures and other projects in support of production. The toolmaker will machine their jigs, fixtures, and customizable parts not only on manual Bridgeport mills and Hardinge engine lathes but also on high RPM and precision CNC mills and lathes. We make our own parts only and the toolmaker will have a constant interface with the RandD engineers that design these parts.Other Sr. Toolmaker responsibilities may include:Production of quality parts on manual and CNC mills and manual lathes and grindersStudies and interprets drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, the sequence of operations and setup requirementsMay work from blueprints, verbal instructions, and other specificationsKeeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipmentBe required to adhere and comply with state and federal law, the Company ISO Quality Program and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental RegulationsAll other duties as assignediQualificationsKnowledge and application of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments such as calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators and scalesCapable of applying considerable ingenuity in building specialized toolsQuality and volume of machining must match the needs of a flexible and customer-responsive production departmentAble to operate all machinery associated with tool fabrication and give advice/assistance to tool designersKnowledge of reading drawings and specifications with an intermediate understanding of geometric tolerancing and dimensionsKnowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring heads, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on various machinesKnowledge of modern tooling and techniquesAble to follow written and oral instructionsAble to adapt to a changing work environment, competing for demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected eventsBasic math skillsPosition requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objectsiEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalentTechnical Certificate and/or LEAP or CTE Program Completion PreferredTraining as Toolmaker preferred10 years of related experience in a machine shop environmentCNC experience preferred but not requirediCompany DescriptionHamilton Company is a worldwide leader in the design and manufacture of manual, semi-automated and robotic products for precision fluid measuring.
