ArcBest Supervisor, Truckload Brokerage in Sparks, Nevada

Currently, we are looking for a Truckload Brokerage Supervisor to join the ArcBest team in Sparks, NV. The primary responsibility of a Truckload Brokerage Supervisor is to provide leadership and support to the Truckload Fulfillment Coordinators and Fulfillment leadership through the coordination and supervision of the daily operational activities of the Dedicated Truckload Brokerage Fulfillment team.

This position will provide leadership, motivation, coaching, training, and development; manage assigned personnel to ensure that dispatched loads get picked up and delivered on time, that posted loads have capacity assigned to them on the customer's designated ship date, and that carrier approval guidelines and dispatching procedures are being followed to provide reliable capacity to our customers at an appropriate net revenue; participate in continuous improvement activities to ensure Company policies and procedures are followed; and promote and develop a positive work culture.

Your contributions may include:

  • Providing assigned personnel, peers and leadership with operational leadership and support through one-on-one and group coaching and counseling to improve performance, conducting interviews, and providing conflict resolution and training

  • Ensuring Company policies are communicated, applied, and enforced

  • Directing the necessary daily activity to ensure a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for employees

  • Delivering assigned personnel coaching, performance reviews, and development plans as appropriate

  • Ensuring assigned personnel have proper access to the necessary tools to perform their assigned duties and that the tools are routinely inspected and maintained

  • Maximizing quality and productivity by understanding job standards for each function, and evaluating performance variances in order to identify root cause and corrective action

  • Participating in interviews for potential employees

  • Planning, managing, and adjusting the daily workload and staffing to maximize efficiency of the team

  • Ensuring daily work schedule is sufficient to meet the needs of the customer

  • Proactively managing the dedicated brokerage board, with emphasis on their assigned team, calls tracked, offers communicated and shipment coverage

  • Approving or declining rate offers as communicated by the coordinator

  • Achieving stated team and Company expectations

  • Ensuring Company standard operating procedures and practices are communicated, applied, and enforced

  • Directing the necessary daily fulfillment activity to ensure a fair treatment assigned personnel and customers

  • Understanding and applying government, company and industry standards and regulations

  • Identifying areas where policy needs to be developed and implemented

  • Collaborating with ArcBest leadership to develop, write, and implement fulfillment policy

  • Organizing and communicating load prioritization

  • Effectively communicating work task Standard Operating Procedures and policies

  • Providing a professional environment with relation to external customers such as drivers, dispatchers, and customer representatives

  • Participating in the collection of performance measurements consistent with Company expectations

  • Performing and completing regular performance reviews with assigned team members

  • Providing capacity review and preview

  • Gathering and maintaining data to track individual and group performance

  • Working in a team setting to accomplish goals

  • Other duties and projects, as assigned

  • Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics or Business, preferred

  • Experience:

  • Minimum one year experience with ArcBest Truckload Fulfillment

  • Knowledge of ArcBest policies, services, computer systems and services capabilities, preferred

  • Computer Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
