Currently, we are looking for a Truckload Brokerage Manager to join the ArcBest team. The primary role of the Truckload Brokerage Manager is to provide leadership and support to the Truckload Fulfillment Coordinators and Fulfillment leadership through the coordination and supervision of the daily operational activities of the Dedicated Truckload Brokerage Fulfillment team. This position is also responsible for maintaining the customer relationship for ArcBest’s largest Asset Light customers.

The Truckload Brokerage Manager provides leadership, motivation, coaching, training, and development by managing assigned personnel to ensure that dispatched loads get picked up and delivered on time, posted loads have capacity assigned to them on the customer's designated ship date and carrier approval guidelines and dispatching procedures are being followed to provide reliable capacity to our customers at an appropriate net revenue. In addition, this position participates in continuous improvement activities to ensure Company policies and procedures are followed to promote and develop a positive work culture.

Your contribution may include:

  • Provide assigned personnel, peers and leadership with operational leadership and support through one-on-one and group coaching and counseling to improve performance, conduct interviews, and provide conflict resolution and training.

  • Ensure Company policies are communicated, applied and enforced.

  • Direct the necessary daily activity to ensure a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for employees.

  • Deliver assigned personnel coaching, performance reviews and development plans as appropriate.

  • Ensure assigned personnel have proper access to the necessary tools to perform their assigned duties and that the tools are routinely inspected and maintained.

  • Maximize quality and productivity by understanding job standards for each function and evaluate performance variances in order to identify root cause and corrective action.

  • Recruit and develop coordinators to drive growth and increase talent pool including the interview process of potential employees.

  • Responsible for the Nestle account representation including all bid processes, rate quoting including broadcasts and service levels.

  • Ability to travel for customer meetings and training.

  • Communicate and collaborate with other managers to ensure customer satisfaction and Company goals are met.

  • Plan, manage and adjust the daily workload and staffing to maximize efficiency of the team.

  • Ensure daily work schedules are sufficient to meet the needs of the customer.

  • Manage the dedicated brokerage board proactively, with emphasis on their assigned team, calls tracked, offers communicated and shipment coverage.

  • Approve or decline rate offers as communicated by the coordinator.

  • Analyze and adjust to market conditions to drive Net Revenue.

  • Achieve stated team and Company expectations.

  • Ensure Company standard operating procedures and practices are communicated, applied, and enforced.

  • Direct the necessary daily fulfillment activity to ensure a fair treatment to assigned personnel and customers.

  • Understand and apply government, company and industry standards and regulations.

  • Identify areas where policies need to be developed and implemented.

  • Collaborate with ArcBest leadership to develop, write and implement fulfillment policies.

  • Organize and communicate load prioritization.

  • Communicate work task Standard Operating Procedures and policies effectively.

  • Provide a professional environment with relation to external customers such as drivers, dispatchers and customer representatives.

  • Participate in the collection of performance measurements consistent with Company expectations.

  • Perform and complete regular performance reviews with assigned team members.

  • Provide capacity review and preview.

  • Gather and maintain data to track individual and group performance.

  • Work in a team setting to accomplish goals.

  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.

As the Truckload Brokerage Manager, you will be a member of the ArcBest Dedicated Operations team. Your work schedule varies between 7:00AM and 7:00PM, Monday-Friday with irregular hours depending on workload and customer and company events. Ready to apply? Education: Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics or Business, preferred.

Experience: Minimum, three years’ experience with ArcBest Truckload Fulfillment.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Other Requirements: Knowledge of ArcBest policies, services, computer systems and services capabilities, preferred.
